Affirmations

Privacy Policy

What stays on your device, what we process, and the choices you have.

Effective

On this page

Your personal practice is saved on your device. Affirmations has no required account or account-based cloud sync. Purchases, subscription offers, audio downloads, website visits, and support requests can still involve processing information outside your device.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Tuvo Labs Limited Co, an Arizona limited liability company (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information in the Affirmations app and at theaffirmations.app (together, the “Services”). We are responsible for the personal information we process in connection with the Services.

For a question or privacy request, email support@theaffirmations.app.

2. Information on your device

The app saves information in its local storage to personalize your experience and remember your activity. Depending on what you choose to provide or use, this includes:

  • Your display name and onboarding answers, including an optional date of birth, feelings, interests, personal priorities, goals, and how you heard about the app.
  • Your own affirmations, favorites, collections, selected topics, reading and practice history, progress, and meditation preferences.
  • Theme, text, sound, reminder, and widget settings, together with downloaded audio and other cached content.

Some answers or topic choices may relate to health, emotional well-being, beliefs, or other sensitive matters. Personalization using your onboarding answers takes place on your device. The app does not upload your saved profile, date of birth, mood answers, or personal affirmation text as an account record or cloud backup. Audio requests and sharing are described below.

Widgets and supported paired-device features may receive the settings and content needed to display your affirmations. Device backups and migration features may also copy local information according to your device settings. We do not operate those backup services and cannot remotely erase every copy.

3. Information processed outside your device

Purchases and subscription offers

The App Store or Google Play Store handles checkout. We and service providers that help operate subscriptions process purchase receipts or transaction identifiers, products purchased, subscription status, purchase and renewal dates, storefront or currency information, and an app-specific customer identifier. This supports purchase verification, restoration, fraud prevention, and subscription reporting. We do not receive your full payment-card number.

When you view a subscription offer, our systems may process a randomly generated app-installation identifier, the offer or test variation shown, and events such as viewing, closing, or purchasing an offer. These records help us deliver and evaluate our own offers. They are not third-party advertising identifiers.

Recorded audio and network requests

Playing or preparing recorded affirmations can download audio. Requests include the requested file’s affirmation identifier and a short fingerprint derived from its text, together with ordinary connection information such as an IP address and request time. The full affirmation text is not sent in that download request. A file identifier may reveal which library content was requested, and a content fingerprint is not a guarantee of anonymity.

The app can also use your device’s speech features. We do not record your microphone. Hosting, content delivery, and subscription systems may process technical information such as device or browser type, operating-system and app version, request paths, timestamps, response status, and IP address to deliver content, troubleshoot failures, and protect the Services.

Support messages

If you contact us, we receive your email address and anything you include, such as your name, a description of an issue, screenshots, or a store order number. Please avoid sending passwords, full payment-card details, identity documents, or unnecessary health information. We may ask for limited additional details when needed to resolve your request or verify that it concerns your information.

4. Permissions and sharing

  • Notifications: reminders are scheduled on your device with your permission. You can change the schedule in the app and revoke notification permission in device settings. Reminder content may appear on a locked screen.
  • Photos: saving an affirmation image can require permission to add to your photo library. Permission does not give us a copy of your photo library.
  • Sharing: when you choose a sharing or export action, the selected text or image is sent to the destination you choose. That destination handles the copy under its own terms and privacy practices.

We do not request microphone, contacts, or precise-location access for the app’s current features. Features may vary by device and app version.

5. How we use information

We use information to provide the features you request, personalize content on your device, verify purchases and Premium access, deliver audio, answer support and privacy requests, understand the performance of our subscription offers, maintain security, and meet legal obligations.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our agreement for requested services and purchases; our legitimate interests in reliable operations, proportionate service measurement, security, and responding to inquiries; compliance with legal obligations; or consent where required. You may withdraw consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. We do not use your data to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

6. Who receives information

We use service providers for hosting, content delivery, subscription administration, operational reporting, and customer support. They receive information needed for those functions and are expected to protect it and use it for the relevant service. The App Store and Google Play Store separately process information under their own privacy rules.

We may disclose information when legally required, to address fraud or threats to security, to establish or defend legal claims, or to protect people’s rights and safety. If our business is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, relevant information may be transferred subject to applicable law and privacy protections. We may also disclose information at your direction.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not serve third-party advertisements in the current Services or use your personal affirmation text or onboarding answers for advertising.

7. Website cookies and tracking

Our support and legal website does not use advertising pixels, analytics scripts, or nonessential cookies. Infrastructure used to deliver and secure the website may process request logs and, when necessary, use security cookies. Browser privacy signals do not change the functionality of these pages; we do not sell or share website data for targeted advertising.

If we introduce optional tracking in the future, we will update this policy and provide any choices or consent required before it is used.

8. Retention and security

Local information remains on your device until you remove it, remove app data, or the app replaces older history or cached files. Device backups and exported or shared copies follow the settings and policies of the places where they are stored.

We retain support correspondence and operational records for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the relevant purpose, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. Purchase records may need to remain available for an active entitlement and for applicable accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal periods afterward. Retention depends on the type of information, the service involved, and our legal obligations; we do not promise that uninstalling the app deletes purchase or support records.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections for online requests. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Protect your device and store account, and consider what appears in widgets, notifications, screenshots, and shared images.

9. Your choices and privacy rights

You can edit supported preferences in the app, delete personal affirmations and collections, manage permissions in device settings, and stop using optional features. To remove local app data, use your device’s Delete App or clear-app-data option; offloading may preserve data. You may also need to remove backups, exported files, or paired-device copies separately. We cannot access or delete local-only information remotely.

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of personal information we hold; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; or appeal our response. Applicable exceptions can include records needed for legal obligations, security, or legal claims. You may also complain to the appropriate privacy regulator.

Send requests or appeals to support@theaffirmations.app. Describe the request and your relationship with the app. We will take reasonable steps to verify the request, ask only for information proportionate to that task, and respond within the period required by applicable law. Authorized agents may submit requests where the law permits, with evidence of their authority. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Because we do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, no sale or advertising-sharing opt-out is needed for our current practices. Where applicable, we honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals. A privacy request does not cancel your store subscription.

10. International processing

We are based in the United States. Information processed by us and our service providers may be handled in the United States and other countries whose laws differ from those where you live. Where applicable law requires safeguards for a cross-border transfer, we use the required legal mechanism, such as an approved contractual safeguard or a recognized adequacy mechanism. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data. Using the Services is not treated as blanket consent to waive your privacy rights.

11. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate steps, including deletion where required. A parent or guardian should supervise a minor’s use and any purchases.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the Services or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the current version. For material changes, we will provide additional notice and request consent where the law requires it.
